So, you have created your sound, published it to a CD and now have the physical manifestation of all of your hard work in your hands. But, what next?
Here at VDC Group we know how important a good marketing campaign is in order to get your CD the recognition it deserves; we also know that social media is an integral part of this campaign. Knowing how to use social media to do so? A little trickier.
But, never fear! We have some great ideas to help make your CD a social media success!
Write Amazing Headlines
Social media is all about catching people’s attention. Scrolling past something is easy if it doesn’t catch your attention then it is easy to just dismiss it in your social media adventures and then you will never see it again.
A catchy headline, therefore, is key to drawing the eye and make people stop. It’s the golden rule of newspapers, websites, and everything else that involves the written word. So, why should your social media campaign be any different?
Incentives
Competitions are the king of social media. People love the idea of winning, so it can be a great way to generate some organic interaction and also appear generous! It will be a great way to help promote your brand and perhaps even gain you a new fan.
Or, if you don’t want to part with your CD’s, you could just release one track. This could be free for all of your social media connections, a taster with the intention of driving them to buy the full album. It doesn’t necessarily have to be your best track, but something that represents your sound and you as an artist.
Don’t Spam
Okay, so you’re excited. It’s inevitable. But, posting about your new CD every five minutes? It can become a little like spam and very annoying for the average Facebook/Twitter/social media user.
Moderation is the key to social media, post every other day to keep people up to date and remind them about your new CD. It’s less annoying and people will be aware, interested and more likely to interact with you.
